PT Saraswanti Anugerah Makmur Tbk (SAMF), through its subsidiary, PT Dupan Anugerah Lestari, realized capital expenditures (Capex) to increase factory capacity. In line with the upward trend in palm oil prices, that led to an increased demand for fertilizers, as reflected in the Q3/2021 sales figure of Rp1.25 trillion, or an increase of 25.50% compared to Q3/2020 Rp994.89 billion.
President Director of SAMF, Ir. Yahya Taufik, stated that to anticipate the increase in fertilizer demand, SAMF continues to accelerate, increasing the factory capacity by 100,000 tons. Thus, the plant’s total capacity will grow from 600,000 tons/year to 700,000 tons/year.
Ir. Yahya Taufik said that the capital expenditure (Capex) of SAMF 2021-2022 budgeted a cost of around Rp105 billion. For 2021, SAMF allocates Rp64 billion for the procurement of production machines and installations; Rp22.5 billion for land acquisition for factory expansion; and Rp13.5 billion for adding the warehouse for raw materials and finished goods. For the 2022 fiscal year, SAMF plans to procure marketing offices in Sampit and Pekanbaru with a budget of Rp5 billion.
This capacity increase is in the form of adding a 3rd production line at PT Dupan Anugerah Lestari, located in the Saraswanti Group Industrial Estate in Mojokerto, East Java. Thus, this is the 7th Granule NPK fertilizer production line owned by SAMF.
The construction of production line supporting facilities has entered the final progress. The primary machines imported from India will arrive in January 2022. It is expected that this additional capacity will be operational by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2022.
Ir. Yahya Taufik hopes that increasing the factory’s capacity will increase the demand for fertilizers and increase SAMF’s market share.
